Financial companies (also all other corporations) want to sell their financial products as much as they can. Often we as customers and consumers think we make these decisions of our own free will, but in reality we are easily manipulated.

We, in the sense of private individuals are actually in a "business" where we should be out for ourselves to consume as little as possible and pay as little as possible to banks and finance companies. But it often tends to be forgotten because the temptation generated by companies is too great.
